Sunland Park to Host World War II Military Simulation and Veterans Expo

The Sunland Park Sports Complex will transform into a living history display and tactical arena for a two-day World War II reenactment and airsoft military simulation. Scheduled for June 5 through June 7, 2026, the event combines local history education with competitive simulation, while honoring regional military veterans.

The weekend begins with a free community expo on June 5 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Local vendors, veteran organizations, and historians will gather to present authentic WWII uniform displays and replica weapon exhibits. Guest speakers from the region will discuss local military history, offering a rare opportunity for residents to engage directly with veterans and preservationists.

Following the expo, the event transitions into a focused military simulation, or “MILSIM,” commemorating the historic D-Day landings. Participation is capped at 150 players, divided into specific historical factions. The tactical schedule includes a night assault scenario on June 6 from 6:00 PM to midnight, followed by the main Normandy beach landing scenario on June 7 from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

In addition to the historical presentation, the weekend marks the 40th anniversary of G&G Armament, a major manufacturer in the airsoft industry. The company is providing special raffle items and giveaways for participants during the event’s closing ceremonies on June 7.

The host site at 4700 McNutt Rd. in Santa Teresa will accommodate traveling participants with on-site camping and RV parking spaces. Registration is $59 USD per player. Local supporting organizations include the War Eagle Museum, the New Mexico Small Business Development Center, and the City of Sunland Park. Complete registration and ticketing details are available at sunlandparkairsoft.com.
