The City of Sunland Park is marking National Senior Citizens Day on August 21 by recognizing the daily contributions of local older adults and highlighting the services available through the Sunland Park Senior Citizen Center.
Older adults play a vital role in the community, bringing years of experience, professional wisdom, and civic dedication to Sunland Park. Many stay active in the workforce as consultants, while others dedicate their time to local volunteer efforts and family caregiving.
To support their independence and quality of life, the Sunland Park Senior Citizen Center serves as a central hub for residents aged 55 and older. While its primary location is at 1010 McNutt Rd., operations are currently taking place out of the Sports Complex at 4700 McNutt Rd. due to facility upgrades. The center continues to provide daily resources designed to keep participants connected and active.

Onsite Food Service
Nutritious meal service is available for registered participants, with meal tickets distributed from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and lunch served from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Mobility and Transportation
Safe, direct transit options, developed in partnership with the South Central Regional Transit District (SCRTD), provide door-to-door transportation to and from the center, as well as access to cultural outings.
Daily Fitness and Activities
Regular exercise programs and recreational social events are hosted on site to promote physical and mental health.
Community
Dedicated staff assist participants with daily needs, fostering a welcoming space for social interaction and peer support.
The Sunland Park Senior Citizen Center operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Residents interested in registering for programs or scheduling transportation can call the center directly at (575) 589-1256 or visit the temporary location at the Sports Complex during normal operational hours.
