The City of Sunland Park is encouraging residents to take part in Save a Life Saturday, a free, community-wide safety training focused on hands-only CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. This event is designed to give participants practical, life-saving skills they can use at home, at work, or in public spaces.
Save a Life Saturday will take place on 02/14, from 9:00–10:00 AM, with free classes offered at Community Resource Centers across Doña Ana County, including Sunland Park. The training is open to the public and does not require prior medical experience.
During the session, participants will learn:
Hands-only CPR techniques
How to perform the Heimlich maneuver
How to recognize and respond to common emergency situations
These skills can make a critical difference while waiting for first responders to arrive.
Residents are encouraged to register in advance at donaana.gov/savealife. Space may be limited, and early registration helps ensure adequate materials and instruction are available.
This event is made possible through the collaboration of multiple public safety and community health partners, including the Sunland Park Fire Department, Doña Ana County, Doña Ana County Office of Emergency Management, the American Red Cross, Arizona and New Mexico Region, Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, and other regional agencies. Their combined efforts reflect a shared commitment to prevention, preparedness, and community well-being.
Community preparedness saves lives. The City of Sunland Park appreciates the continued partnership and participation of residents in efforts that strengthen public safety for everyone.
