The City of Sunland Park has received reports of a sewer-like odor near the Carlos Aguirre area.
City staff have confirmed that a small spill is occurring and that the odor is consistent with a combined sewer overflow originating from Anapra, Chihuahua. The appropriate notification protocols are underway.

CRRUA crews are responding and have begun disinfection measures, including the application of soda ash. Additional treatment will be applied if the spill continues.
Residents in nearby areas may notice temporary odors. The City will continue coordinating with CRRUA and partner agencies and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
