On November 25, 2025, Mayor Javier Perea and New Mexico State Representative Ray Lara joined forces to distribute 100 turkeys to local families at the Sunland Park Sports Complex. This collaborative effort brought together City leadership and community partners to provide holiday support for residents across Sunland Park.

The event highlighted the strong working relationship between Mayor Perea and Representative Lara, who continue to coordinate on initiatives that strengthen resources and expand opportunities for families in our region. Both leaders worked side by side throughout the distribution, meeting with residents and ensuring the process ran smoothly.
