HELPNM Opens Applications for Early Childhood Services and Announces Perinatal Wellness Event

The City of Sunland Park is sharing this information solely for community awareness. This program and its upcoming event are organized and administered entirely by Chicanos Por La Causa HELPNM, not by the city.

Chicanos Por La Causa HELPNM is now accepting applications for early childhood development services in Sunland Park. The program focuses on children from birth to age 5, as well as expectant mothers.

Services include high-quality education, health and nutrition resources, parent activities, and potty training assistance. The organization explicitly serves families receiving public assistance such as SNAP or TANF, children in foster care, homeless families, and children with disabilities. Operations are based at 1000 McNutt Road, Suite H, and staff can be reached directly at (575) 386-5615.

In addition to ongoing enrollment, the HELPNM Expectant Family Program will host an event titled Perinatal Wellness Conversations on July 29, 2026. The upcoming session focuses on breastfeeding education and runs from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sunland Park Center located at 1000 McNutt Road.

Attendees can meet local community partners, access free depression screenings, and enter a raffle for breastfeeding baskets and door prizes. HELPNM will provide food and child care during the event hours. Residents looking for more details regarding the wellness event can contact Family Services Engagement Worker Claudia Martinez at 915-408-7537 or Disability & Mental Health Coordinator Iria M. Colón at 281-408-9577.
