Community Open House: Water Utility Updates and Infrastructure Progress

The City of Sunland Park invites residents to a community open house on April 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Sunland Park Multigenerational Center, 4700 McNutt Rd.

This interactive event is designed as a “neighbor-serving-neighbor” experience. It provides an opportunity for residents of Sunland Park and Santa Teresa to engage directly with the professionals who manage the regional water system.

What to Expect

Attendees can move freely through various stations to meet certified water operators, leadership, and billing specialists in a welcoming, person-to-person setting. The evening will focus on:

Water Quality & Infrastructure

Get direct answers regarding water quality and the specific steps being taken to improve local infrastructure.

Data Transparency

Operations experts will share easy-to-read data on arsenic treatment. Current results show that all facilities—including Sunland Park, Border Entry, and Santa Teresa sites—meet federal standards.

System Modernization

View updates on upcoming projects funded by recent legislative appropriations and city investments.

Career & Household Resources

Learn about in-house certification training for those interested in utility careers. Staff will also provide practical water conservation tools and activities to help families manage usage and costs.

This is a dedicated opportunity to review regional progress and get clear answers about the future of your utility services. Fully bilingual staff will be onsite to assist all attendees in both English and Spanish.
