The City of Sunland Park officially launched its newest community initiative, the “Gateway to New Mexico” Cultural Market, on March 21, 2026. Held at Elena Park, the event brought together residents from across the Paso del Norte region to celebrate local entrepreneurship, culture, and community spirit. The inaugural market featured a diverse array of regional vendors offering handcrafted arts, jewelry, apparel, and unique collectibles. Attendees enjoyed live musical performances and a selection of local food trucks, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the intersection of Loma Vista Drive and Meadow Vista Blvd.
City leadership was present to support the kickoff of this recurring series. Mayor Pro-Tempore and District 6 Councilor Raul Telles, along with District 4 Councilor Alberto Jaramillo, joined Parks & Recreation Director Daniel Carranco to engage with residents and vendors throughout the morning. Their attendance underscores the City’s commitment to fostering economic opportunities and enhancing public spaces for Sunland Park families.
