City of Sunland Park Conducts Mosquito Control Spraying and Treatment Across Multiple Neighborhoods

UPDATE AS OF JULY 31, 2026:

The City of Sunland Park Public Works Department completed another round of targeted mosquito fogging operations across several local neighborhoods to protect community health and reduce vector activity.

Crews targeted the following sectors:

July 31, 2026

  • Subdivisions along 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Streets

  • Subdivisions between Buena Vista and Antone

  • Subdivisions from Santa Domingo and the area behind Riverside Elementary School

  • Subdivisions from Carlos Aguirre up to the Ardovino area

  • River Levee Park area

Public Works crews will continue monitoring standing water zones and applying larvicide treatment as needed throughout the season. Residents are encouraged to eliminate standing water on private property to support these vector control efforts.

City operations teams completed targeted mosquito treatments across several areas to manage pest populations and reduce standing water risks.

Crews conducted fogging and placed larvicide briquettes in ponding areas with standing water in the following locations:

  • Anapra area

  • Along McNutt Rd, Futurity Dr, Racetrack Dr, and Sunland Park Dr

  • San Gabriel area

  • Valencia area

  • Sunland Park Sports Complex

Larvicide briquettes target mosquito larvae in standing water before they hatch into adults, while fogging addresses active adult populations.

Residents can report standing water or heavy mosquito activity online or through the Sunland Park Connect App at sunlandpark-nm.gov/connect/.
