Mayor Javier Perea, City Manager Mario Juarez-Infante, and Deputy City Manager Marco Grajeda recently met with Doña Ana Community College (DACC) Chancellor Mónica Torres and Kristi Martin, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Relationships, to discuss the future of higher education and economic integration in the region.
The meeting follows the announcement that DACC has received $4 million in legislative funding dedicated to the renovation and expansion of its Sunland Park campus.
A primary focus of the discussion was Sunland Park’s strategic position within the “Paso del Norte” region. As a central hub for binational and tri-state growth, the City and DACC are aligning efforts to meet the specific demands of a globalized economy.
