At its final City Council meeting of 2025, the City of Sunland Park formally recognized and thanked council members who are concluding their service to the community.

During the meeting, appreciation was extended to Jesus Soto, Daisy Lira, and Susan Gomez for their time on the City Council and their dedication to public service. Each played a role in representing residents, participating in key policy discussions, and helping guide the City through an important period of transition and growth.

The meeting also marked the close of the current City Council’s term and the beginning of preparations for the next governing body. The 2025 Swearing-In Ceremony for incoming council members will take place on December 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Doña Ana County Government Center, located at 845 N. Motel Blvd., Las Cruces, NM 88007.

Incoming council members include:

• Armando Mata, District 2
• Bertha Salmon, District 3
• Raul Telles, District 6
