The City of Sunland Park, in collaboration with Mamacitas Cibernéticas, Senior Planet, and Santa Teresa High School, is offering a series of free technology and health classes for residents aged 50 and older this fall.
The Fall 2026 programming, themed “Semester of Health,” focuses on practical digital skills that promote physical and mental wellness. Participants will learn step-by-step methods to use smartphones and Chromebooks to find nutrition recipes, navigate health applications, improve physical fitness, and access digital tools for stress management. Courses take place across two local sites starting in August.
At Santa Teresa High School, located in the Warrior Room, basic smartphone and Chromebook classes begin August 7. Instruction runs from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with instructors Norma Ortiz and Ana Cristina Juárez. High school student assistants provide open help hours at this location on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
At the Sunland Park Sports Complex / Multi-Gen Center Computer Lab Room, classes begin August 11 under the direction of instructors Laura Guzman and Ana Cristina Juárez. Morning sessions include basic mobile phone usage beyond calling and texting from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. An advanced Chromebook course follows from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. by invitation only. Student Cyanne Tinker provides open help hours at the Multi-Gen Center on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
