City of Sunland Park and CRRUA to Host Joint “Utility Night Out” on July 30

The City of Sunland Park and the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) are opening the doors of the Sunland Park Sports Complex on July 30, 2026, to give residents a direct line to their utility providers. Running from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM, the joint event aims to take the guesswork out of monthly utility bills during peak summer usage.

Summer temperatures regularly drive up household utility consumption, leading to unexpected costs. Rather than dealing with automated phone lines or complex websites, residents can speak face-to-face with representatives from El Paso Electric, New Mexico Gas Company, the South Central Solid Waste Authority, and Conterra Networks. Staff at individual booths will review bills, clarify rate structures, and explain exactly what residents are paying for each month.

To get the most out of the evening, attendees should bring their recent paper or digital utility statements. Having these documents on hand allows representatives to look at specific accounts and point out exactly where changes can be made to lower costs.

In addition to billing reviews, attendees can learn immediate, practical habits to reduce household energy and water consumption. CRRUA staff will also be on-site distributing free water-saving tools to help households manage their usage, available while supplies last. Admission to the event is free.
