Sunland Park Identifies Post-Rainfall Street Sweeping Priorities; Initial Neighborhoods Cleared

SUNLAND PARK, NM — The City of Sunland Park has initiated targeted street sweeping operations following recent rainfall that deposited sand and debris on local roadways. Public works crews are systematically scanning all municipal sectors. Streets are prioritized dynamically based on heavy debris accumulation and traffic safety hazards.

Sweeping operations successfully cleared two primary sectors on 2026-06-15:

  • Anapra Area: Calle Morroco, Calle Diaz, Calle Obregon, and Calle Madero.
  • Riverside Sector (Towards River): Aspen, Riverside Dr, Fir Ct, Poplar, Birch, Elm Ct, Locust, Maple Ct, Magnolia, Walnut Ct, and Spruce.

Crews will transition into pending zones, including the Valencia, Rancho Santa Teresa, and Elena areas, as scanning confirms safety priorities. Residents must move parked vehicles off municipal roadways when sweepers are visible to ensure complete curb-to-curb clearance.

If residents notice additional areas with heavy sand or debris accumulation, these issues can be reported directly through https://sunlandpark-nm.gov/connect/ or by using the Sunland Park Connect App.
