SUNLAND PARK, NM — The spirit of Sunland Park was on full display this past weekend as the Gateway to New Mexico Cultural Market returned to Elena Park on May 9th. The special Mother’s Day edition of the market brought together local artisans, youth entrepreneurs, and community resources for a morning defined by regional pride.
From the vibrant Folclórico performances at the gazebo to the wide array of handcrafted goods, the event highlighted the diverse talent found within our own neighborhoods.
The May market featured specific goods for the holiday, including handcrafted jewelry and custom floral arrangements. Local makers like showcased personalized jewelry, while other vendors offered handmade skincare and home decor.
Beyond shopping, the market served as a hub for essential community resources. Organizations such as TOTS Early Intervention and Day One Home Visiting Program were on-site to provide families with direct access to support services, while partners like EP Electric engaged with residents regarding local utility programs.

The City of Sunland Park thanks the vendors, performers, and neighbors who attended. Between the food trucks, the jumpy houses for the kids, and the live music, the event continues to grow as a Saturday tradition.
The Gateway to New Mexico Cultural Market takes place on the third Saturday of every month. The next event is June 20, 2026, at Elena Park from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
