The Mayor Pro Tem is selected by the City Council and serves in a leadership support role to the Mayor. When the Mayor is unavailable, the Mayor Pro Tem presides over City Council meetings and represents the City in an official capacity as needed. The role helps ensure continuity in governance and supports the orderly conduct of Council business.

Councilor Telles will continue to represent District 6 while taking on these additional responsibilities. His appointment reflects the Council’s commitment to collaborative leadership and effective local governance.
